　「ケイスリー・ヘイフォード（Casely-Hayford）」が、ブランドの創業者でクリエイティブディレクターを務めていたジョー・ケイスリー・ヘイフォード（Joe Casely-Hayford）が逝去したとインスタグラムの公式アカウントで発表した。享年62歳。3年前からがんを患い、闘病生活を送っていた。

　ジョー・ケイスリー・ヘイフォードは1956年生まれで、1984年に自身のブランド「ジョー ケイスリー ヘイフォード（Joe Casely Hayford）」をスタート。その後はデザイナー業と並行してザ・クラッシュ（The Clash）やU2といったバンドの衣装を担当し、2005年からサヴィル・ロウの老舗テーラー「ギーブス＆ホークス（Gieves＆Hawkes）」のクリエイティブディレクターを務めた。2007年には大英帝国勲章が授与された。

　2009年に息子のチャーリー・ケイスリー・ヘイフォード（Charlie Casely-Hayford）とともに立ち上げたケイスリー・ヘイフォードでは、サヴィル・ロウのテーラリングなどイギリスの伝統と技術をベースにしたメンズウェアを発表。2017年秋冬シーズンからはウィメンズも展開し、2018年10月にはロンドンのチルターンストリートに初の店舗を出店した。ブランドは今年で10周年を迎える。

　公式インスタグラムでは、故人の写真とともに「40年にわたり彼は、時代の先駆者であり続け、創造的で革新的な存在でした。彼が世界に与えた影響は、決して忘れることはないでしょう」と追悼コメントを投稿している。

Joe Casely-Hayford OBE 1956-2019. After a 3-year battle with cancer, our founder and Creative Director, Joe Casely-Hayford passed away on the 3rd January 2019. A pioneer in so many ways - from his earliest work in the 1980’s through to the innovative Casely-Hayford retail space he opened at the end of last year - Joe was a trailblazer, a creative and innovator in the truest sense. This year marks the 10 year anniversary of Casely-Hayford, a decade in which Joe and Charlie have dressed international musicians, artists and actors, sold their collections worldwide to the best stores, collaborated with global brands, put on countless runway shows and ultimately opened the doors to their first stand alone store on Chiltern Street. Joe of course achieved so much more in his 40 years in industry. He was the quiet outsider who from his earliest days as a designer boldly carved out a path for others to follow. When asked in 2005 by i-D’s James Anderson in Fashion Now 2 “What's your ultimate goal?” Joe replied “I am living my ultimate goal by enjoying a career based on original design ethics – to create clothes without boundaries.” Influenced by truth, integrity and purity - above all Joe was a loving husband, father and a brother who will be sorely missed by the countless lives he touched and inspired. He was the ultimate gentleman whose influence on the world will never be forgotten.
